Simple squamous epithelium (400x)-Simple squamous epithelium is made up of one layer of flat cells.   This picture shows the lining of an artery, one location for this type of tissue.

Simple cuboidal epithelium (400x)-Simple cuboidal epithelium is made up of one layer of cube-shaped cells.  These cells frequently make up the tubes of your body.

Simple columnar epithelium (400x)-Simple columnar epithelium is made up of one layer of tall cells.   These cells line your respiratory and digestive tracts.

Pseudostratified columnar epithelium (400x)-Pseudostratified columnar epithelium is made up of one layer of columnar cells which frequently look like multiple layers.

Stratified squamous epithelium (400x)-Stratified squamous epithelium is made up of multiple layers of flat cells.  This tissue makes up the outer layer of the skin, as well as the lining of the mouth and vagina.
