Dr. Mohan joined the chemistry faculty at the Lima campus in 2013. As a native of India, Dr. Mohan obtained her doctorate degree from Purdue University in 2010. After a brief hiatus, she started teaching Organic Chemistry at OSU-Lima.

She is mainly responsible for teaching Organic Chemistry 2510 and 2520 lecture courses and Organic Chemistry 2540 and 2550 lab courses. She also teaches Biochemistry 4511 and some sections of CHEM 1110 lab.


Research and Special Interests (back to top)

Dr. Mohan is an Organometallic Chemist by training and has worked with Prof. Ei-ichi Negishi (2010 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry) at Purdue University for doctoral studies. During this time, she worked in developing methodologies using Negishi coupling to synthesize stereospecific alkenes.

Her interests include medicinal chemistry and synthesis of bioactive molecules, natural products and small molecular drugs.
