The Arbuckle Creative Writing Awards were initiated in 2002 to honor the memory of Professor Nan Arbuckle and her contributions to The Ohio State University at Lima. Dr. Arbuckle, in addition to being a Medievalist and a composition specialist, was an accomplished poet, and one of her ambitions was to foster a love of creative writing among her students. The goal of the Arbuckle Awards, thus, is to encourage and to reward the writing of outstanding poetry and prose on the Lima campus.
