Honors Book Seminar

During selected quarters, we select a book to read which we then discuss in an informal seminar. This is a great opportunity for students and faculty to interact in discussion of a topic of mutual interest. This seminar is sponsored by the Honors Program, but is open to anyone on campus or in the Lima community. Some of the books that we have read and discussed are:

The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara

The Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan

Lee’s Tarnished Lieutenant by William Garrett Piston

The Whole Shebang by Timothy Ferris

His Promised Land by John P. Parker

Everyman and Medieval Miracle Plays by A. C. Cawley, ed.

T. Rex and the Crater of Doom by Walter Alvarez

The Vacant Chair : by Reid Mitchell

The Northern Soldier Leaves Home

Hubbert’s Peak: The Impending World Oil Shortage by Kenneth Deffeyes

Sacred Rage: The Wrath of Militant Islam by Robin Wright
