SOCIAL WORK ELECTIVES
In addition to the core curriculum, students enroll in social work electives which are designed to support and broaden their learning of generalist practice skills. Elective course work may be selected from such areas as child and family services, corrections, aging, mental retardation and developmental disabilities, and physical health care.
All students taking social work electives in the quarter system, choose from the same elective list. However, depending on your year of graduation, the number of social work elective hours required varies. Please view your curriculum checklist above to determine the number of social work elective hours required. View the approved social work electives below. Please consult your academic advisor with any questions pertaining to the social work electives.Social Work Elective List

Field practicum allows students an opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with skill acquisition as they learn to conduct themselves in a professional manner in actual practice situations.
You also have the opportunity to complete an Individual Study in an area of interest not available through regular course enrollment. You and a faculty sponsor will structure, design and implement a course of study.Access Individual Study Form here.
