The Ohio State University at Lima holds to the tradition of Open Enrollment. This means that any Ohio resident who has graduated from high school (or earned a GED) and not attended any other post-secondary school, you will be admitted.

Please submit the following when applying to The Ohio State University at Lima as a freshman:

Official ACT or SAT scores sent from the testing agency with the writing score if taken. (Test scores are not required for the regional campuses, but strongly suggested due to scholarship requirements. Test scores also help dictate placement testing needs.)

Transfer

If you have taken any college coursework AFTER high school, you are considered a transfer student. You must have a cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or higher from all previous college coursework to transfer to The Ohio State University at Lima. Please visit transfer.org to view how your completed coursework may transfer into Ohio State.

* If you are transfer from Rhodes State College, your $60 application fee will be waived. Please contact the admission office at 419-995-8391 for more information.

Continuing Education

If you would like to take Ohio State courses, but not pursue a degree, you would be considered a Continuing Education (CEd) student.

Generally, domestic students who are eligible for admission to CEd must demonstrate the following academic achievements:

Graduation from High School or a GED

A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all previous university-level coursework

NOTE: If you don’t have at least a 2.0 GPA, please provide a written explanation and transcripts from all institutions attended, along with your CEd application.

Be In good standing with other colleges or universities attended

In addition, applicants must:

Be at least 24 years of age, have a bachelor’s degree, or have been out of high school for at least four years

OR

Be in a degree-granting program at another university and wish to transfer Ohio State Credit back to that institution .

Graduate Nondegree

If you are seeking graduate-level credit, but are not enrolled in a Graduate Program, you should apply as a Graduate Nondegree (GND) student.

Please submit the following to apply as a GND student:

$60 application fee

A Copy of your undergraduate diploma or final college transcripts showing your undergraduate graduation date. These will need to be electronically saved or scanned and uploaded to your on-line application.

Please make sure to list the course(s) you wish to take on the application where indicated.

Academy(PSEOP)

The Academy program is the Ohio State implementation of the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEOP) created by the state of Ohio and is a partnership between Ohio State, the high school, and the student and his or her parents. Most students admitted to the Ohio State Lima Academy Program have at least a 22 ACT composite score and are from the top 20% of their high school class.

If a student is 60+ they can take part in Program 60 (P60) which is a unique learning opportunity for Ohio citizens to register and attend undergraduate and graduate level courses, tuition-free, at The Ohio State University. Credit cannot be given nor will courses be applied toward a degree. Acceptance into a course is based on permission of the instructor and space availability which is determined the first week of the quarter.
