Chillicothe, OH – Friday evening saw the Barons return to their winning ways as they downed OU Chillicothe 94 to 83.
During the first half of the game, the Barons were able to build a lead of 9 points, but that lead was cut in the last minute of the half with some very deep range shooting by OUC but the lead to 2 points and the Barons went in to the locker room with a 43 to 40 lead.
In the 2nd half, the Barons came out still shooting hot, as well as doing a great job of finding big man Brent Cook (Spencerville) open underneath. The Barons’ focus wasn’t entirely on offense though, as they stepped it up defensively as well, really doing a great job of contesting the long range shots of OUC and thus pulling away for the 11 point win.
Offensive leaders for the Barons were, Cook with 29, Jordan Swift (Shawnee) with 22, and Andy Wisher (Spencerville) with 10.
The win raises the Barons’ record to 11 & 8 overall, 9 & 4 in the ORCC. The Barons continue their road swing tomorrow with a trip over to OU Lancaster on Saturday.
The Barons do not return home again until Saturday, January 26th as they host OU Zanesville with the tip set for 3pm following the Lady Barons contest starting at 1pm.
Come out and support the Barons! Admission is free for all OSU and Rhodes State students.
