The Honors Program hosts an Honors Book Seminar where they will discuss the book Guitar Zero by Gary Marcus. The author is a noted cognitive psychologist at NYU, who had a life-long ambition to learn to play the guitar. As he was approaching age 40, he decided to accept the challenge and used it as a basis for his sabbatical leave as a study of how one learns a complex task later in life. This is the account of his experience. Discussion will be led by Dr. Meggie Young (Music) and Dr. Fabio Letie (Psychology). Pizza and beverages will be provided. This seminar is open to all students, staff and faculty.
