Dutchman's Breeches
Dutchman's Breeches (Dicentra cucullaria)
In bloom April 3 - May 5.
Very similar to and once thought to be the same species as
squirrel corn. The two big wihite petals are more spread apart
than those of squirrel corn. The two big petals look like baggy
trouser legs and the flower appears tipped with yellow.
