November 10, 2009: Honoring Veteran’s Day with the film Alive Day Memories: Home from Iraq. This documentary features The Sopranos star, James Gandolfini, interviewing ten soldiers who came back home with injuries from the war in Iraq. The soldiers speak about how their lives are irrevocably changed. The film showtimes are 12:30 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. in the Galvin Gameroom.

November 16, 2009: Pep Rally in the Galvin Commons featuring the Ohio State Lima Pep Band. Join us for hot chocolate, hot cider, candy and prizes!

November 17, 2009: Buckeye Bakeoff and Bake Sale in the Galvin Lobby from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the LSAC Hardship Fund.

November 17, 2009: Women in Science and Engineering meeting from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. in Science 312. Guest speaker Dr. Jackie Augustine will present "My winding way from animal lover to behavioral ecologist." After the presentation, there will be a question and answer session, networking, and free pizza. Please RSVP to Sabine Jeschonnek jeschonnek.1@osu.edu so they can get enough pizza.

November 18, 2009: Beat Michigan Door Contest. Deadline for student groups to adopt a door is November 10. Contact Amy Livchak at ext. 8414 or Jeanne Moorman at ext. 8481 if you are interested in decorating a door. Prizes will be awarded for the best door. Vote for the People’s Choice Award at Lima.OSU.edu.

November 19, 2009: Flag Football Championships start at 4 p.m. with a Faculty and Staff Exhibition game, followed by the Powder Puff Championship game at 4:30 p.m. and the Flag Football Championship game at 5 p.m. Stick around for the bonfire at 6 p.m. in the fire pit next to the Observatory.

November 19, 2009: Great American Smoke Out in the Galvin Gameroom from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. There will be 50 quit smoking kits available to help smokers kick the habit.

November 20, 2009: The Reluctant Banshee, an Irish fairy tale for young audiences, is written and directed by Brian Keegan. Showtimes are November 20, 2009, at 7 p.m. and November 22, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts. To purchase tickets, call the box office at (419) 995-8382.

November 25, 2009: Turkey Trot, canned food drive, and drawing in the Cook Hall Gym from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. A ticket will be given for each canned item that students bring in to the Student Activities Office in Galvin 066, between November 23 and November 25. A drawing for two $50 gift cards will be held at 1 p.m. in the Cook Hall Gym. Students who walk, run or trot like a turkey will be given an additional ticket for the drawing!

December 02, 2009: Chair massages in the Galvin Gameroom from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Stop by for some relaxation time.

December 03, 2009: Winter Choral Concert at 8 p.m. in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts. The concert is free and open to the public.
