October 21, 2014: The Book Arts at The Ohio State University: A view on collections and programs Sarah Falls, Fine Arts Librarian at The Ohio State University, will talk about the Book Arts at Ohio State University, exploring the work of faculty and student artists, the work of the Logan Elm Press and the collections of the University Libraries. From collegiate fine printing, to teaching the history of the book to the craft of artists books and paper making, Ohio State has a lively and vibrant book arts community.

October 22, 2014: Passport to Employment Series: Your Personal Brand: Step Up 2 Stand Out All students are encouraged to attend this Passport to Employment Series presentation. These information sessions include career related information and hands-on practice to assist students as they develop themselves professionally throughout their college career. October 22, 2014: REACH Suicide Prevention Training - Student Session Suicide is the second leading cause of death among college students. 67 percent of college students tell a friend first when they are feeling suicidal. REACH Suicide Prevention Training is provided by researchers from Columbus Campus to help students recognize when friends or loved ones are struggling and may be suicidal, and to help them intervene and increase the chances that the person will seek the help they need. October 22, 2014: REACH Suicide Prevention Training - Faculty & Staff Session REACH Suicide Prevention Training is designed to help faculty and staff recognize the warning signs of students who are feeling suicidal and intervene, increasing the chances they will seek the help they need. October 29, 2014: Fall Festival Get in the fall spirit with the 2014 Fall Festival, brought to you by the Campus Activities Board! Join in the first Trick-or-Treat on the Quad. There will be candy, games and drawings all afternoon, along with charity drives for our local homeless shelters, so don’t forget to bring in canned goods or household items! If you, your club, or your department would like to set up a station, contact the Student Activities office.

October 31, 2014: Buckeye Tailgate and Open House Tailgate your way through what it’s like to Be A Buckeye at Ohio State Lima! From a campus tour and an exploration of majors to hearing from current students about their experiences, this day is all about finding out what it means to Be A Buckeye! November 01, 2014: Honors Trip to Columbus! THE HONORS SEMINAR HITS THE ROAD! Tour the acclaimed Transfigurations exhibition at the Wexner Center in Columbus with Lima’s Ed Valentine. November 05, 2014: Employer Spotlight Series: Government Representatives from federal, state and local levels will be on a panel discussing careers with the government. Students from all majors are encouraged to attend this event as government jobs are available across all disciplines including business, technology, health care, engineering, arts and sciences.

There will be four events that walk the students through the admissions and financial aid processes at Ohio State Lima. Upon successful completion of the DREAM Program and CLIFFS (College Level Intervention for Freshman Success summer bridge program), students receive a renewable scholarship at Ohio State Lima. During this first DREAM event for the 2014-2015 academic year, admissions representatives will explain what the DREAM program is and share all that Ohio State Lima has to offer. Allen County high school seniors who meet the requirements and their parents will be invited.

November 18, 2014: Passport to Employment Series: Networking over the Holidays All students are encouraged to attend this Passport to Employment Series presentation. November 26, 2014: Beat Michigan Week - LSAC Chili Cook-Off Stop by the Galvin Commons to taste chili entries for the Lima Staff Advisory Council Beat Michigan Cook-off and cast your vote to see who takes home the traveling trophy! Bragging rights are on the line, so you won’t want to miss this!

December 11, 2014: Spring Orientation 2015 Orientation is going to be held on Thursday, December 11. Registration will begin at 8:30 AM in the Science Building with the formal presentation beginning at 9:00 AM and concluding at approximately 12:00 PM. Orientation will give you an opportunity to become more familiar with campus and the resources that are available to you as an Ohio State student. Academic Advisors will help you schedule your spring courses and financial aid counselors will be available to assist with any questions.

December 19, 2014: LSAC Holiday Party Staff members are invited get ready for the holiday season in their best ugly sweater with the Lima Staff Advisory Council holiday party complete with a white elephant gift exchange and free lunch. Please bring a $10 gift and enjoy the festivities.

January 22, 2015: DREAM Program The Dare to Reach Excellence Achievement and Meaning (DREAM) Program is a scholarship program geared toward underrepresented high school seniors in Allen County. There will be four events that walk the students through the admissions and financial aid processes at Ohio State Lima. Upon successful completion of the DREAM Program and CLIFFS (College Level Intervention for Freshman Success summer bridge program), students receive a renewable scholarship at Ohio State Lima. During this second DREAM event for the 2014-2015 academic year, admissions and financial aid representatives will help students apply for admission to the University and also for financial aid and scholarships. Allen County high school seniors who meet the requirements and their parents will be invited.

January 22, 2015: LSAC Winter Meeting/Brunch The Lima Staff Advisory Council meets for its winter meeting and brunch.
