Ohio State Lima seeks Kids’ College volunteers and session leaders
The Ohio State University at Lima is looking for community members to share their special skills with middle school pupils during the fifth annual Kids’ College Day Camp, which will run from Wed., June 16, to Fri., June 18, 2010, on the campus.
The goal of this camp is to motivate and encourage students to stay in school and to help them succeed in life.
“This is a great opportunity for Ohio State Lima to collaborate with the Lima community to make a difference in these students’ lives,” said Lynn Trinko, Kids’ College coordinator. “We also hope to make learning interesting and appealing to everyone in the community.”
The campers will be entering sixth through eighth grades when school begins in the fall. Volunteers are needed in all areas, including organizational and workshop hosting. Past workshops have included everything from cartooning to physics, photography, movement, theater staging and journalism. The workshops put on by community volunteers and University faculty and staff are typically one hour long and will be held on June 16 or 17. “Kids’ College Gets Fit” is the 2010 theme.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like to know more about getting involved at Kids’ College, contact Lynn Trinko at (419) 995-8412 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information about Kids’ College, visit on the web at http://Lima.OSU.edu/kidscollege/ .
