Media Alert: Ohio State Lima makes DREAM of university education come true

Dare to Reach Excellence, Achievement and Meaning high school students finish program April 29

High school seniors who have been participating in the Ohio State University at Lima’s Dare to Reach Excellence, Achievement and Meaning, or DREAM, Program, will graduate at 5:30 p.m., Thurs., April 29, 2010, in the Public Service Board Room. Successful participants who have decided to come to Ohio State Lima will receive scholarships.

The DREAM Program is a university preparation program designed by Ohio State to ensure that all students capable of achieving an university education have the opportunity to do so. At least 10 students from the area will complete the program this year.

Students were nominated to participate in the DREAM program by their guidance counselors. As part of the program, students and their parents were offered one-on-one support and counseling on such topics as the application process, financial aid and scholarships. Students have been meeting monthly since November 2009.
