Media Alert: Ohio State Lima announces auditions for children’s theatre production

The Ohio State University at Lima Department of Theatre will hold auditions for Kashtanka: The Buckeye Dog at 6 p.m., Mon., Sept. 27 and Tues., Sept. 28, 2010, on the main stage of the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts in Reed Hall.

Kashtanka: The Buckeye Dog is adapted and directed by Dr. Maria Ignatieva for Ohio State Lima’s Theatre for Young Audiences. Public performances will be at 7 p.m., Nov. 19 and 2 p.m. Nov. 21.

In the play, a little dog named Kashtanka is lost and found by a new owner, the circus master and clown. Kashtanka enjoys new friendships with a goose, a cat and a pig. She prepares to perform with the circus but something happens. The Theatre for Young Audiences presentations have been seen by more than 25,000 area elementary students over the past 15 years. Join the cast and become the best appreciated actors in the world because there are no better audiences than children.
