Ohio State Lima a cappella group to perform at campaign kick-off
Ohio State Lima’s a cappella group, Carmony, will perform for friends, alumni, supporters, faculty and staff at two events celebrating Ohio State’s fundraising campaign kick-off Thurs., Oct. 4, 2012, on the Columbus Campus.
Carmony is one of several Ohio State musical groups that will perform during the luncheon and dinner kick-off events. The Lima group will perform several solos throughout the day and will also be featured with the Ohio State Marching Band.
Through the "But for Ohio State: The Campaign for The Ohio State University" campaign, Ohio State intends to raise $2.5 billion. The campaign, which will sustain and advance Ohio State as an institution that changes lives, is the largest fundraising endeavor in the university’s history. Locally, Ohio State Lima’s campaign goal is $5 million, half of which has already been raised. Ohio State Lima is raising money for scholarships, the new Student Life Building, and faculty and program support.
The campaign kick-off coincides with Ohio State’s Homecoming Week, which runs Oct. 1-6, capitalizing on the energy and excitement of the week’s events.
