Gee to visit Ohio State Lima April 10
Ohio State University President E. Gordon Gee will visit Ohio State Lima on Wed., April 10, 2013. While on campus, he will meet with faculty, staff, admitted students and current students throughout the day. He will also help celebrate the progress of Ohio State Lima’s capital campaign. The most video- and photographic events follow:
11:00–11:30 a.m. Lunch with Admitted Students and Parents in the Visitor and Student Services Center. Hosted by the Admissions Office, high school students who have been admitted to Ohio State Lima for next fall will have the opportunity to meet their future University president.
11:45 a.m.–12:20 p.m. Lunch with Current Students on the Quad. Ohio State Lima’s a cappella group, Carmony, will perform and current students will participate in a Human Trafficking Awareness Stand-in.
12:30–1:00 p.m. Capital Campaign Luncheon in the Farmer Family Gallery in Reed Hall. Dr. Gee will celebrate the progress of the But for Ohio State Lima Campaign with key supporters, donors and volunteers. Ohio State Lima has raised more than half of its $5 million goal to fund scholarships, a new Student Life Building, and faculty and program support. The overall University campaign goal is $2.5 billion. It is the largest fundraising endeavor in the University’s history.
1:05–1:15 p.m. Media time in the Lima Campus Library’s special collections room. Dr. Gee will be available to talk to members of the media.
1:20–1:45 p.m. Undergraduate Research Display in the Lima Campus Library, Cook Hall. Dr. Gee will visit with students who participated in the Ohio State Lima Undergraduate Research Forum on March 26. The posters from the 12 research projects will be on display.
