Ohio State Lima faculty earn promotions

Eight employees transition to new roles

Irina Boyadzhiev has been promoted from lecturer to senior lecturer of mathematics. Boyadzhiev has been a lecturer at Ohio State since 1993. Her research interests focus on using technology to teach mathematics. She completed her master’s degree and post graduate work at the University of Sofia, Bulgaria. She has taught a variety of general math and computer sciences courses at Ohio State Lima.

Dr. Patrick Carroll has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of psychology. His research focuses on how and why people revise self-views in response to social feedback across two lines of inquiry: the psychology of the changed and the psychology of the changer. Carroll received his master’s degree and PhD from the University of Florida. Currently, he teaches several social psychology and research methods courses at Ohio State Lima

Dr. Tryntje Helfferich has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of history. Helfferich’s research interests include the intersection of religion and politics in the 17th century, early modern European military history, the history of Reformation and early modern European gender history. She received her PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara. At Ohio State Lima, Helfferich teaches courses on world history, Western civilization, early modern European history, the Reformation, gender history and military history.

Dr. Young Ah Lee has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of education. She received her PhD from The Ohio State University. Her research and teaching interests focus on early childhood pedagogy.

Dr. Fabio Leite has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of psychology. His main research interest involves the analysis of response time and accuracy data from quick decisions in order to infer how people process information. Leite received his master’s degree and PhD from University of California, Irvine. He teaches several cognitive psychology courses at Ohio State Lima in addition to research methods.

Dr. Cosmin Roman has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of mathematics. His research areas focus on module theory, ring theory and algebra. He received his master’s degree and PhD from The Ohio State University. Roman currently serves as the Ohio State math coordinator for developmental math. He teaches a variety of general math courses at Ohio State Lima.

Tina Schneider has been promoted from associate professor to full professor of University Libraries. Schneider received her Master of Arts in music history from The Ohio State University and her Master of Library Science from Kent State University. Her research focuses on music history, and more specifically, hymnal collections. She currently teaches an information search course.

Ed Valentine has been promoted from associate professor to full professor of art. His areas of expertise include painting and drawing. Outside the classroom, he is an accomplished artist, having more than a dozen solo exhibitions in New York City and Los Angeles as well as the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, Ostrava, the Czech Republic, and the Atrium Gallery in Prague. Valentine received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Ohio State and his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art and Design.
