Ohio State Lima kicks off PALS series with a tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Ohio State University at Lima will celebrate the life and accomplishments of Martin Luther King, Jr. with a performance by actor and motivational speaker Barry Scott at 12:30 p.m., Wed., Jan. 21, 2009, in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts in Reed Hall on the shared campus of The Ohio State University at Lima and James A. Rhodes State College.
Scott portrays Dr. King and the speeches of MLK in historically accurate and inspirational performance pieces. An accomplished actor, writer, producer, director, motivational speaker and voice over artist, Scott also serves as a regular guest lecturer on diversity and leadership at the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management Leadership Seminar. The Nashville native is a graduate of Tennessee State University with a degree in Speech Communications and Theatre.
Scott’s performance kicks off the quarterly Performing Arts and Lecture Series (PALS), which is sponsored by The Ohio State University at Lima and James A. Rhodes State College. The event is also sponsored by the Diversity Council and the Student Activities Office.
The event is free and open to the public.
