For Immediate Release Aug. 6, 2002 CONTACT: Pam Joseph at (419) 995-8284 or Jon Rockhold at (419) 995-8390 Ohio State Lima plans wall breaking to start Reed Hall renovations The sledgehammers are poised to fly at The Ohio State University at Lima to start the renovation of Reed Hall. Faculty, staff, students and invited well wishers will gather for the ceremonial wall breaking to start the project at 4 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, in the Reed Hall Theatre. The $1.3 million project is made possible through the generosity of Martha W. Farmer, who will be on hand to kick the project off. Plans call for an expanded backstage area that will include a costume shop, a scene shop, a large rehearsal room, and dressing rooms with shower facilities. The ceiling above the stage will be raised to install a fly system that will allow scenery to be raised and lowered into place. In addition, the back wall will be removed to give the stage and backstage area more depth and the entire facility will get a new lighting system. The renovations are expected to be completed within a year. # # # |
