FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Feb. 24, 2004 Contact: Pam Joseph at (419) 995-8284 Ohio State Outreach spot to run during basketball halftime Lima North Middle School students highlighted Fifth-graders from Lima North will be halftime stars during the Ohio State/Minnesota men’s basketball game on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004. The students star in a 90-second Outreach and Engagement spot featuring Ohio State Lima’s Inquiry, Scientists and the Environment program, or ISE. The entire clip is also available online and can be accessed through the Ohio State Lima web site lima.osu.edu. The game begins at 8 p.m. ISE is an in-class program that gives fifth and sixth graders the chance to explore becoming scientists and learning about local environmental issues. Donning lab coats, children work in teams and are asked to solve real life problems concerning real environmental issues. Activities complement state standards in science, mathematics and language arts. All activities take place in the classroom and can be presented in two 45-minute segments or in one 1.5 to 2 hour session. For information about ISE and other Outreach programs at Ohio State Lima, contact Lynn Sametz at (419) 995-8805. ### |
