For Immediate Release Dec. 8, 2004 CONTACT: Pam Joseph at (419) 995-8284 High schools to descend on Lima campus for Career Day activities Ohio State Lima and Rhodes State host annual event The Ohio State University at Lima and the James A. Rhodes State College will host their annual Career Day for High School Students from 9:30 a.m.-noon, Friday, Dec. 10, 2004. More than 1900 students from 35 schools in the 10 county region will attend this year’s event. That is a record number of students and schools. The goal of the program is to expose students to a wide variety of careers that require some level of college completion such as a two or four year degree. Presenters in 58 different areas will discuss types of careers, the levels of education needed for different types, possible career paths, and the skills or talents necessary to succeed in a specific area. The presenters are professionals from local businesses, Columbus and Toledo. All the schools in the Rhodes State/Ohio State Lima service area were invited to attend at no cost to the students. At least 65 guidance counselors will accompany the students, who will get to pick three different sessions to attend. A list of the participating schools follows:
