Pregnant and parenting teens to visit the Lima campus to explore possibilities

Pregnant and parenting teens will have a chance to discover the possibilities available to them in postsecondary education when they visit The Ohio State University at Lima and the James A. Rhodes State College from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005.

Approximately 25 students from the Lima Senior GRADS (Graduation, Reality and Dual Role Skills) program will visit the Lima campus for a college day program that will provide materials and resources to help students pursue an education beyond high school. Activities will include a student panel of parenting students from Ohio State Lima and Rhodes State, a tour of both institutions, presentations from the admission and financial aid offices, and lunch.

The GRADS program is an in-school, secondary program for pregnant students and young parents, male or female. The visit is provided in partnership with the Lima/Allen County College Access Program.

A similar program will be held at the Lima campus for students in the GRADS program at the Apollo Career Center in April.
