Media Alert: MayDAZE hits campus with fun and activities

Giant chairs, blood drive, folk singer and flying pies highlight event

The possibility of rain has not dampened the excitement for MayDAZE at the campus of The Ohio State University at Lima and James A. Rhodes State College. Students, faculty and staff will turn out for two days of fun, food and music, May 2-3, 2006, in the Quad. In case of rain, Tuesday’s activities will move into Cook Hall.

Highlights will include:

10:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2006: “Gotta Go Racers,” inflatable jousting, human spheres, hi-striker, potty toss and a DJ. A mini Campus Marketplace will be open selling pizza.

10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2006: Folk-pop singer Annie Rapid performs on the Quad at 12:30 p.m. as part of the Performing Arts and Lecture Series. Games include soccer kick, radar pitch, ring toss, cow milking and hi-striker. The full Campus MarketPlace will be open, as will the Giant Inflatable chair photo op. The MarketPlace is a fundraising opportunity for campus clubs and will feature henna tattoos, pizza sale, massages, a balance contest, bake sale, and a military display. Students can also buy a chance to “Pie a Prof” for $.50. For $1.50, they can win the chance to throw a pie at another student. An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be set up in the courtyard near the Public Service Building.
