For Immediate Release Jan. 13, 2006 CONTACT: Pam Joseph (419) 995-8284 Lesley King (419) 995-8671 Media Alert: Award winning Martin Luther King Jr. presenter kicks off Performing Arts and Lecture Series The celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy continues at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2006, in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts as The Ohio State University at Lima and the James A. Rhodes State College present Bryan H. Barrows as a guest of the Performing Arts and Lecture Series. The performance is free and open to the public. Barrows, an award winning professor of Speech Communications at North Harris College, will present his one-man documentary–style drama outlining the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and the evolution of the civil rights movement. Barrows portrays an old man who is appalled to learn his grandson doesn’t know anything about Dr. King. The poignant story relives the events surrounding the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the March on Washington and the final days of the assassinated civil rights leader.
