Student Bio: Hello, my name is Ashley Neal. I was born and raised here in Marion and graduated with honors from Ridgedale High School in 2012. I’m in my junior year here at Ohio State in Marion, majoring in psychology with a minor in classics. I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time here and in the course of pursuing my degree I have gotten involved in the various opportunities and organizations here on campus, such as Psychology Club, French Club, and the Campus Activities Board, with which I volunteered and worked at events such as the Springfest and Fallfest of 2013, and the Spring 2014 Formal. I am President of Griffin Society, the social extension of the honors program, which plans fun and educational lectures and events open to all students and faculty. I’m also a student representative of the Marion Pioneering Healthier Communities organization, which has shown me many of the ways in which small changes to our habits and environments can make huge differences in our health and happiness, and has motivated me to help encourage these small changes in my community. Getting involved in these organizations has led me to exploring many other opportunities, such as tutoring other students, partaking in undergraduate research, and doing an internship, through all of which I have gained valuable experience and understanding, adding to my passion for psychology and learning. I’ve enjoyed many of the opportunities that can be found on this campus, but I’ve also gotten to know the people here as well. From the intuitive advice and guidance of my professors and mentors, to the friendships I’ve made here with my peers that I know will last far beyond our college years, I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of this incredible community that is The Ohio State University at Marion. I know my experiences here have already and will continue to positively impact my future, and I strive to do the same for my fellow students and community members. I hope to represent you all as your 2014 Marion Homecoming Queen, and I appreciate your vote!
