Financial Aid: Scholarships

A scholarship application is NOT required for the Choose Lima First Scholarship Freshman Award. Scholarship is awarded upon enrollment.

Ohio State Lima awards over $450k in special scholarships each year from more than 40 scholarship funds. These special scholarships are designated for Lima campus, new and current, students and are awarded through the Ohio State Lima Office of Student Financial Aid. To be eligible for consideration of one of these special scholarships, all students must complete the 2024-2025 Ohio State Lima Scholarship Application via ScholarshipUniverse. Please note, some special scholarships require completion of the FAFSA.

The university offers hundreds of scholarships with a wide variety of eligibility criteria.
To apply each year, file a FAFSA and complete the ScholarshipUniverse application by the priority date of March 15.

ScholarshipUniverse is a scholarship-matching tool that simplifies the process of finding and applying for internal and external scholarships. Once you create your profile, ScholarshipUniverse will alert you to possible scholarship matches. You'll need your Ohio State username and password - which you activate after you apply for admission - to get started. For more: go.osu.edu/scholarshipfaqs.

Students can apply for external scholarships through churches, professional, civic or service organizations, or private foundations. High school counselors can typically provide more information on these opportunities in your area.
