Alumni continue to influence Ohio State Lima long after graduation

Warm wishes from The Ohio State University at Lima

Giving nature and dedication of alumni enhances current student experiences

As the seasons pass here at Ohio State Lima, we see those timid first year students who began on our campus earlier this fall begin to blossom into confident leaders who will shape our campus for this new generation of Buckeyes. Some will soon make plans to transition to Columbus while others will continue to make Ohio State Lima their home as they complete any one of our nine undergraduate degrees. But they all have one goal in common: to eventually join the esteemed community of OSU alums.

Over the last year and half, I have witnessed the giving nature of our generous alumni. By opening up your businesses to mentor our students in meaningful internships or by giving of your time, energy and resources to advance the goals of our university, it is you who best articulate what it means to live Ohio State’s motto: education for citizenship. You have paved a path of excellence for our current and future students.

During this holiday season, I want to thank you for your continued dedication and support. I am inspired and awed by all that OSU has been able to accomplish thanks to our motivated and loyal alums. As you make your year end gifts, we hope that you will consider investing in the future of Ohio State Lima and the students who will represent our university as valued alumni in a few short years.

I wish you the very best during this holiday season and hope to work with you in the new year.

How firm thy friendship,

Charlene Gilbert

Student Spotlight: Kayla Brown

Student Kayla Brown does it all thanks to scholarship

My scholarship freed up all my time ... I wouldn’t have been able to join clubs and go on trips. I wouldn’t be able to be as invested in my campus as I am. I absolutely love college! Whenever I think about the experiences I’m having, like getting to go to New York City to cheer on the Buckeyes or helping bring new and exciting activities to campus, I can’t help but smile. Seriously, my cheeks hurt.

I can’t thank the scholarship donors enough for the donations and on behalf of all the students like me, receiving scholarships, “thank you.” You give without asking questions and that is amazing to me. You have no idea the back stories of the students you give to, but I can tell you that you are changing their lives.
