The Phillip A. Heath Center for Teaching and Learning makes a high-quality education accessible to all students by offering a welcoming, respectful and academically supportive environment. The Center works with faculty and staff to support students in all disciplines and of all ability levels.

  • Students may contact the Learning Center to schedule Zoom tutoring sessions for English, Math, Psychology, and Spanish.
  • Students may access open daily tutoring from 1-4 p.m., Monday through Friday via Zoom link

Writing Tutoring

Students can find assistance for specific projects and their general writing skills in a caring, supportive environment.

Hours are:

  • Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  • Friday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    Mathematics Tutoring

    Assistance is available in mathematics and statistics.

    Hours are:

  • Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

    Exam Proctoring

    Proctoring of exams (e.g., make-up, special needs, early finals for graduating seniors) is performed free-of-charge for all current Ohio State students. Students attending other institutions who seek this service will be assessed a fee of $25 per hour per exam. Contact Julie Paxton for further information: 567-242-7310 or

    EM Testing

    The Credit by Examination Program allows students to progress more rapidly toward their educational goals by reducing the time and money normally required for degree completion. The EM program rewards students for their knowledge and challenges them to acquire new knowledge and greater understanding. Contact Julie Paxton at 567-242-7310 or e-mail for more information.

    Correspondence Testing and Proctoring Services

    The Heath Testing Center can proctor higher learning exams in paper-based format. Prospective candidates should contact their host institutions to verify this location as acceptable for proctoring.
