The Ohio State University at Lima

Doors to the Perry Webb Student Life Building formally open Sept. 14 with ribbon cutting

September 7, 2018

The Ohio State University will formally dedicate the Perry Webb Student Life Building from 10 a.m.-noon, Fri., Sept. 14, 2018.

Community members, alumni, students and employees are invited to tour the building anytime from 10 a.m.-noon. A formal program begins at 10:30 a.m. and is expected to end with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m.

The keynote speaker for the dedication is Bruce A. McPheron, Ohio State’s executive vice president and provost. Other speakers will include Interim Dean and Director Joe Brandesky, Ohio State Lima Student Senate President Paige Purdy, Ohio State Lima senior William Kleffner and the Perry Webb family.

The Webb is the new, centralized hub of student life and activity on campus. The $5.2 million, 15,000 square foot building features a fitness center, grab and go food services, an information commons and collaborative work space, and several multipurpose lounge spaces. The doors have been unofficially opened since autumn semester began in late August. Students have flocked to the building – using the fitness center, lounging on giant bean bags, drinking Starbucks while meeting with friends, and settling in to their new home away from home.
