STEM Steps comes to campus March 9

Area high school sophomores and juniors will be at Ohio State Lima for the sixth annual Ohio State Lima STEM Steps program from 9:05 a.m.-1:35 p.m., Mon., March 9, 2020. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.

STEM Steps is an enriching and exciting day filled with hands-on activities in various STEM fields to encourage and stimulate an interest in science. Students will also learn the role of women in STEM fields and see how they can impact the world with STEM education.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Ann Rea Miller, an optometrist who offers comprehensive eye care for all ages at Visual Eyes in Lima.

STEM Steps is made possible by the generous support of INEOS.

The event capacity is 125. Students will be attending from Antwerp, Bath, Fort Jennings, Lima Central Catholic, Lima Senior, Miller City, New Knoxville, Pandora Gilboa, Perry, Riverdale, St. Marys, Shawnee, Temple Christian, Upper Scioto Valley and Wapakoneta.

Bio of Dr. Ann Rea Miller

Dr. Ann Rea Miller, graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University in 2008 with a doctor of optometry degree after also completing her undergraduate work in pre-optometry and psychology at Ohio State. She is a 2000 graduate of Kalida High School. In 2014, she founded Visual Eyes, a practice offering comprehensive eye care for all ages, with an emphasis on glasses, contact lenses and the diagnosis and management of eye diseases.
