Two people look in a microscope at STEAM on the Quad 2025

STEAM on the Quad at The Ohio State University at Lima brought in a record crowd for its ninth year with more than 500 people coming together to learn, explore and discover.

STEAM on the Quad is aimed at kids in grades K-8 and built to improve their knowledge and interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Humanities, and Math through hands-on activity.

A variety of activities are hosted by the 4-H programs of Putnam, Allen, Hancock, Auglaize, and Williams counties, along with the Mobile Stem Bus from the 4-H State Office; the Ohio State Lima departments of education, earth sciences and English; and a variety of student clubs, community businesses and organizations.

With 36 stations on the grounds, kids had a wide variety of activities to choose from. Event sponsor Charles River Lab brought a tentful of hands-on activities and perennial favorites Johnny Appleseed MetroParks District, Allen County Museum, YWCA and the Autism Life Center were joined by new community groups ArtSpace/Lima and the Allen County Master Gardeners.

STEAM on the Quad is a collaboration between Ohio State Lima and the OSU Extension offices in the surrounding areas. The event is presented with support from Charles River Lab.

The date for the 2026 STEAM on the Quad is tentatively set for Sunday, September 27, 2026. The event is free and open to all.
