Back to school with a smile

Autumn semester at Ohio State Lima is underway with all the excitement, determination and experiences that only a new academic year can bring. Welcome Buckeyes.

“This place pushes you to become who you're meant to be. Being a Buckeye means something deeper to me than just being a student. It means being part of a community that embraces your story, your background, and your journey, even when it includes struggle. Being a Buckeye means showing up for others, working hard, staying curious, and most of all, staying rooted in who you are while remaining open to who you're becoming.”

At Ohio State Lima, we offer more than a degree. We offer a place to explore who you are and who you want to become. Go to the lecture that’s not required. Take the class outside your major. Apply for the internship even if you’re not sure if you’ll get it. Join the group, volunteer, ask the question even if your voice shakes. College is one of the few times in life when your main job is to be curious — to learn, to risk, to grow.

Every class we teach, every study abroad, every research project we mentor, every extracurricular we run, every meeting we have is to help you get lost - so you can find yourself, be uncomfortable - so you get comfortable in it, be in conflict - so you find the agency to fight, and fail - so you can learn, double down, and try again - so that no matter what you do in life, where you go, when you leave this place – you do it as You. That is what the college experience offers.
