Second Year Transformation Experience Program


Second Year Transformation Experience Program (STEP) is designed to engage students in the campus community after their first year via faculty to student mentorships. Students will have the opportunity to work with faculty to build essential networking connections and develop skills that will go beyond the classroom.

Program Information:

  • This program is for students who have completed their first year at The Ohio State University at Lima
  • During your second year you will have the following requirements for both autumn and spring semester
    • Autumn
      • Meet with your faculty mentor and cohort for 1-3 hours a week
      • During your meeting times you will engage in activities that will promote you to grow personally and academically, as well as, build essential network connections
    • Spring
      • Meet with your faculty mentor 1-3 times during the semester or as needed
      • During your meeting you will discuss and develop a plan for your signature project
  • Students are eligible to receive a fellowship up to $2000 to use towards a STEP signature project.
    • Signature projects include but are not limited to:
      • Study abroad experiences
      • University sponsored or personal learning trips
      • Limited wardrobe or housing expenses
