STEP program

Second Year Transformation Experience Program (STEP) is designed to engage students in the campus community after their first year via faculty-to-student mentorships. No matter the Ohio State campus they attend in their second year, students will have the opportunity to engage in programs and activities, including financial wellness programming, that will help to develop professional skills and networks on campus and for their careers beyond Ohio State.

Program Information:

  • This program is for students who have completed their first year at The Ohio State University at Lima
  • During your second year, you will have the following requirements for both the autumn and spring semester
    • Autumn
      • Meet with your faculty mentor and cohort for 1-3 hours a week
      • During your meeting times, you will engage in activities that will promote you to grow personally and academically, as well as, build essential network connections
    • Spring
      • Meet with your faculty mentor 1-3 times during the semester or as needed
      • During your meeting, you will discuss and develop a plan for your signature project
  • Students have the opportunity to receive up to $2,000 in fellowship funding to use toward a STEP Signature Project that can be transformational to your future. Explore project opportunities in a number of categories:
    • Creative and Artistic Endeavors
    • Education Abroad
    • Internship
    • Leadership
    • Service-Learning
    • Undergraduate Research
