The University
As one of six regional campuses in The Ohio State University system, Ohio State Lima brings the University’s land grant mission to the people of west central Ohio. Students come from a 10-county region and beyond to begin their academic careers at the state’s premier research university.
Ohio State Lima combines the strength of the university’s programs and faculty with the appeal of a small college atmosphere, one-on-one interaction with professors, and a convenient location. All of the tenure-line faculty are members of their departments in Columbus. Since 1995, 10 have won the prestigious Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching, which recognizes the top professors in the classroom across all Ohio State campuses. Similarly, two lecturers on campus have earned the Provost’s Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Lecturer since 2013.
Students who enroll at Ohio State Lima can choose to take the first two years toward most Ohio State degrees and transition to Columbus or to stay in Lima and earn their Bachelor’s degrees in any of the thirteen complete programs, including biology, business, early childhood education, middle childhood education, child and youth studies, engineering technology, English, health science, history, psychology, social work, theatre and zoology.
Baccalaureate degree completion programs lead to a Bachelor of Science in health sciences and social work. The variety of offerings continues to grow with the expansion of the resident faculty and utilization of distance learning technology.
