The National Civics Bee for sixth, seventh and eighth graders comes to campus from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Galvin Hall. Dean Meggie Young will join guest speakers Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith and Allen County Commissioner Beth Seibert to welcome the 20 competitors.
The competition encourages young people to engage in civics and contribute to their community. Organized in partnership with The Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the competition inspires middle schoolers to become better informed about America democracy, to engage respectfully and constructively in the community, and to build greater trust in others and institutions.
