This organization is designed with the first-generation college student in mind. It helps to remove barriers for first-time, first-generation college students by fostering connectedness with your peers, staff and faculty while enhancing your understanding of university life at Ohio State Lima. Most importantly, Buckeyes First will offer you a voice in a safe, inclusive space, so you can know you are not alone on your college journey.

Buckeyes First offers:

  • Regularly scheduled meetings
  • Skills 4 Life: Career readiness, academic preparedness and personal growth
  • Collaborative class experiences with peers in your first-year experience course
  • Strategies for knowing what and how to study
  • Access to limited, need-based, high-impact academic scholarships
  • Exclusive Ohio State swag
  • Service opportunities in conjunction with WeServe
  • Connections, mentors and enhanced professional networks
