Robin K. Bagley and Marie Walton

The Ohio State University at Lima was well represented at the 2023 Undergraduate Research Awards Ceremony held earlier in March in Columbus.

Dr. Robin Bagley was selected as a winner of the Excellence in Undergraduate Research Mentoring Award. This award honors research mentors who demonstrate an ongoing and enthusiastic spirit toward supporting undergraduate student researcher in many capacities, including academically, professionally and personally. She was nominated by senior Marie Walton.

Walton picked up top honors in the animal sciences category at the 28th Richard J. and Martha D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum. Her research project “Lepidopteran Diversity in a Restored Prairie” established baseline estimates of butterfly and moth species present on the campus prairie that will allow future researchers to track developmental change in invertebrate succession as the prairie develops.
