The Ohio State University at Lima is pleased to announce that Dr. Robin Bagley has been promoted to associate professor of Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology, effective July 1, 2026.

Promotion and tenure are awarded to tenure-track faculty who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship and teaching, and who have provided dedicated service to both their field and the university.

“I am absolutely delighted to celebrate Dr. Robin Bagley’s well-deserved tenure here at Ohio State,” said Dr. Margaret Young, dean and director of Ohio State Lima. “Throughout her time as an assistant professor, I have watched Robin bring an extraordinary level of warmth and a vibrant enthusiasm to her teaching. Her innovative approach in the classroom is always paired with a deep commitment to supporting her students—a dedication that has rightfully earned her several awards over the years. I am incredibly proud of her accomplishments and so grateful for the energy, care, and curiosity she brings to our community every day.”

Dr. Bagley recently received the 2025–2026 College of Arts and Sciences Early-Career Faculty Excellence Award, which recognizes outstanding performance in research, teaching and service. She is Ohio State Lima’s 2025 recipient of both the Faculty Award for Sustained Student Mentorship and the Teaching Excellence Award, and she serves as the co-chair of the popular STEAM on the Quad event. In 2023, she won the Excellence in Undergraduate Research Mentoring Award and mentored Marie Walton, who took first place in the animal sciences category at the 28th Richard J. and Margaret D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum.

A primary goal of the Bagley Lab is to describe the community of natural enemies associated with the pine sawfly genus Neodiprion. Dr. Bagley welcomes undergraduate researchers to study host-parasite relationships and the diverse insect populations of the campus prairie.
