A history marker about Galvin Hall

As communities gear up for the United States' 250th anniversary, a new historical marker has popped up in front of Galvin Hall. The sign commemorates the groundbreaking of Ohio State Lima’s very first building, a structure that paved the way for the campus to become a regional hub for higher education. The site has officially been named a stop on Lima’s Local History Hunt.

Part of the newly launched Health and Wellbeing Trail, the hunt is an interactive journey through the people, places and stories that shaped Lima and Allen County. The initiative features five themed trails, each consisting of roughly 10 stops.Participants who complete at least five stops on any given trail will earn a limited-edition commemorative pin, with a special prize waiting for those who collect all five.

A steady stream of visitors has already begun arriving at Galvin Hall to explore the campus's cornerstone history. For those looking to check out the new marker, parking lots B and C on the campus map offer the closest access to the building.
