The Ohio State University at Lima has announced the Husky Lima Refinery Scholarship for students in the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology.
Incoming BSET students for autumn semester 2021 will each receive at least $1,000 toward their educations thanks to the long-time Lima employer.
“We want to be supportive of the students interested in the work that we do in Lima,” said Claudio Ingaramo, vice president of US Refining and Husky Lima Refinery plant manager. “If they understand we are willing to invest in them, we hope they will give us a look when it comes time to enter the workforce.”
The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology responds to Ohio manufacturers’ requests for highly skilled engineers who possess general manufacturing engineering technology skills that marry business and leadership principles to engineering processes and technical knowledge.
This evidence-based, interdisciplinary program offers students the opportunity to connect their hands and heads. It is available only at Ohio State’s regional campuses through a special relationship with the College of Engineering. This program meets the outcomes of the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
“This program will help build a pipeline of qualified employees for our region,” said Jon Horn, senior manager, Lima Refinery Human Resources. “Ohio State Lima is an essential partner, willing to develop and grow the programs and degrees needed to deliver a pipeline of qualified employees for our region.”
