As the young prairie in the Tecumseh Natural Area at The Ohio State University at Lima continues to grow, the invasive species that want to move in and crowd out our native plants also continue to grow. Alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members are welcome to help us “take a stab” at removing the invasive teasel before it goes to seed.
DETAILS OF THE DAY
Tuesday, July 29, 2025 • 8-11 a.m.
Rain date: Wednesday, July 30
We will be cutting teasel stems in an area that is home to insects and lit by the sun. Wear sturdy shoes, gloves, long pants and sunscreen. If you have comfortable clippers, bring them along. Branch loppers and shrub shearers also work.
The Ohio State Lima Prairie is located on the corner of Reservoir and Mumaugh roads. Parking is available in the gravel lot off Mumaugh.
