Researchers at The Ohio State University at Lima are studying predictors of children's story comprehension as it develops in the year prior to kindergarten. Parents and their 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 year old children are invited to participate in PRISM, Predictors of Reading in Social Minds.

As part of the study, parents and children will meet with an Ohio State researcher on the Lima campus. The parent will complete a survey while the researcher assesses your child’s language, literacy, memory, and social understanding skills. Assessments will be repeated six months later and one year later (also on the Lima campus). Parents will receive a $20 gift card at each of the three time points their child participates in.

Parents and their 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 year old can participate in this study. Children should have no known or suspected developmental disability (e.g., autism, ADHD), see and hear well, and speak English with parents at home.

This research if voluntary. If you would like to participate or have any questions, please call or text the PRISM project number at 567-825-0805. You can also provide your contact information using this link and we will contact you.
