A great way to get hands-on experience in science is by collaborating with a faculty member on a research project. Undergraduates are encouraged to do research at Ohio State Lima to enhance their educational experience. Undergraduate research is also an increasingly important experience to have for applying to both professional school and graduate school.
Recent undergraduate research projects in the Ohio State Lima Biology Department
- Recovering the evolutionary history of rodents in West Africa and South Central Asia using genetic data
- How survival varies by habitat and migratory status
- The distribution and soil preferences of rare orchids within a nature preserve
- How digestive system morphology varies with diet and migratory status
To get involved in research, contact a faculty mentor:
Dr. Ryan Norris - Studies evolution of small mammals
Dr. Robin Bagley - Studies host-parasite relationships
Dr. Zac Beres - Studies evolution of herbicide resistance
