Three students talk to reps from P&G Lima

The strong, ongoing community support of our students as they work their ways through college to become the doctors, business people, social workers, teachers and other professionals of the future is on the top of Ohio State Lima’s thankful list as we approach the season of gratitude.

We are grateful to Procter and Gamble for its second year of partnership to bring scholarships to Ohio State Lima Buckeyes. The P&G Scholarship for Ohio State Lima provides tuition scholarships for undergraduate students who are enrolled at Ohio State Lima in the engineering technology major.

The original gift provided four, full tuition scholarships and has recently been continued for a second year.

Third-year engineering technology student Chris Arzanan found a good fit at Ohio State Lima and was delighted when he found out he is one of the first P&G scholars.

“Having a full tuition scholarship means I am more likely to take some chances and do some internships that I otherwise might not have,” Arzanan said. “I have a safety net now that will provide some cushion if an internship requires me to move or pays less than my current job.”

Arzanan already felt the connection with P&G. He has been putting himself through college working at DHL Supply Chain Company within the P&G Dayton Mixing Center in Vandalia for three years.

“I have enjoyed seeing first-hand the constant improvement that P&G puts into the technology of not only their products, but also the processes and logistics of transporting it,” Arzanan said.

After meeting with representatives from P&G Lima and taking a plant tour with the other P&G scholars, Arzanan plans to apply for an internship at the Lima location.
