2019 Freshman Scholarship
Choose Lima First Scholarship Award
- Current High School Senior
- Applying for Autumn 2019 and selecting the Lima campus as their FIRST CHOICE Ohio State campus.
- Minimum high school GPA: 2.70
- Deadline to apply: Dec 15
- Must be enrolled full-time (12 - 18 credit hours per-semester)
- Acceptance fee must be paid by the May 1 deadline
- Must earn a 2.0 Autumn 2019 GPA to be renewed for Spring 2020
Scholarship amount: $1,200*
*$600 for Autumn 2019 and renewable for an additional $600 for Spring 2020. If the student is eligible for the Buckeye Affordability Grant for Spring 2020, the student is not eligible for the Spring 2020 term renewal of the Choose Lima First Scholarship.
No separate scholarship application is required.
President's Affordability Grant*
All new students who file a FAFSA by the February 1 priority deadline and have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of 14,300 or lower will be awarded a $1,250 need-based grant, regardless of grade point average.
*Criteria listed are for the 2018-2019 academic year, and may be subject to change for subsequent years.

J.J. Walter Scholarship in History (May 1, 2019)
Arthur & Marian Rudd Scholars - Five new freshmen students are named Rudd Scholars each academic year; one will receive a full-tuition scholarship, and four will receive half-tuition scholarships renewable for a maximum of 8 semesters while attending Ohio State Lima. Students must be enrolled full-time and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to Allen and Auglaize County students who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship cannot be combined with any other Ohio State Lima scholarships.
The Martha W. Farmer Theatre Scholarship Fund -Established by Martha Farmer. Income provides scholarships based on academic merit for talented undergraduates at the Lima Campus preparing for a theatre major, or for former Lima Campus students majoring in theatre at the Columbus Campus. The Griffith Family Scholarship - (Freshmen only) Provides scholarships to deserving freshmen students from Hardin County who are attending Ohio State Lima. The applicants must have a background in agriculture but do not have to pursue a degree in agriculture. Students from Ada(Ohio) High School with or without an agricultural background will also be considered.(Deadline: March 15, 2019)
The Osborn Family Scholarship - (Freshmen only) Scholarships for students at The Ohio State University at Lima with special consideration for first generation scholars and students from Putnam or Henry County. Award by the Osborn Family. (Deadline: April 15, 2019)
J. McLean Reed Music Fund - Recognizes Dr. Reed's dedication and support of the campus' music program. Supports scholarships to students who demonstrate leadership and excellence in music. J.J. Walter Scholarship in History - Established by the Schuler-Walter Foundation, this scholarship provides one history major at The Ohio State University at Lima with a $2,250 scholarship. Students must be approved and declared history majors. (Deadline: May 1, 2019)
Zelma L. Roeder Memorial Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships for Lima Campus students who are music majors or minors, with preference to students of keyboard instruments.
