STEP Information Session for first-year students

Student Success
Date
April 11, 2024
Time
12:40 p.m. - 1:40 p.m.
Location
Galvin lower level

About this event

First year students are invited to consider participating in STEP (Second-year Transformational Experience Program) during your second year at The Ohio State University. You are eligible to participate here at Lima or in Columbus if you are campus changing.

This year, our current STEP cohort is 9 students and one faculty mentor. 7 out of 9 of these students have either completed their proposal for their projects or are still planning theirs. These projects, whether it is an internship, a study abroad, research, service learning, or a creative endeavor, can all be funded up to $2,000 by STEP. Your project can really be anything, and you don’t have to have it figured out ahead of time to participate in STEP. We’d love to at least double our cohort size for next year!

Perhaps the best part about STEP is your time spent within your cohort and with your faculty mentor taking on professional development opportunities. Our current faculty mentor is Ian Breidenbach.44@osu.edu. He’s happy to answer your questions! Think of this time spent as a weekly student org meeting time.

Thursday, April 11 from 12:40-1:40 down in the Galvin Lower Level, we will be hosting a STEP information session.
Please attend if you can! There will be pizza. This session is for all STEP interested students, including those that have already registered or already attended the last session.

If you know that you’re interested already, please complete this online registration form https://go.osu.edu/limastepapp. There is no harm in completing it to indicate your interest, as there is no punishment if you do not end up participating. This just helps me include you in my targeted outreach and planning.
