Question: Which physics classes are offered in Lima?
Answer: We offer Physics 1106, 1200, 1201, 1250, 1251, and 1231. We also offer Astronomy 1142.

Question: I never had physics in high school. Can I take a physics class at Ohio State?
Answer: Yes, you can take a physics class at Ohio State. We do not assume any previous knowledge of physics in Physics 1106, 1200, and 1250. Having taken physics in high school helps, but it's not necessary. I've had very good and successful students who took physics for the first time in college.

Question: Do I need to take Physics 1106 or 1200 before I can take Physics 1250?
Answer: No, you can start right away with Physics 1250, provided that you are enrolled in Math 1151 or Math 1154. It's ok if you've never had physics before.

Question: I'd like to take Physics 1200, but I won't complete Math 1148 in time. Do I really need this class as a prerequisite?
Answer: Yes, you do need to take and successfully complete Math 1148 before enrolling in Physics 1200. This also applies to any other Math prerequisite. We use a lot of algebra and trigonometry in Physics. If you don't know enough math, you are setting yourself up for a failure.

Question: Where can I get information about careers in physics?
