The Ohio State University at Lima will hold a Rapid Registration event from 1-5 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2023, for future Buckeyes who would like to begin classes this autumn semester. The event is drop-in style in Galvin Hall 305, so it is recommended that students arrive no later than 4 p.m. to start the process.

About this event

The young prairie in the Tecumseh Natural Area at The Ohio State University at Lima is growing. So are the invasive species that want to move in and crowd out our native plants. As part of the WeServe community service initiative on campus, faculty, staff and students are invited to come together for a few hours to “take a stab” at removing the invasive teasel before it goes to seed.

DETAILS OF THE DAY

Monday, July 31, 2023 • 9 a.m.-noon |

We will be cutting teasel stems in an area that is home to insects and lit by the sun. Wear sturdy shoes, gloves, long pants and sunscreen. If you have comfortable clippers, bring them along. Branch loppers and shrub shearers also work.

The Ohio State Lima Prairie is located on the corner of Reservoir and Mumaugh roads. Parking is available in the gravel lot off Mumaugh.

About this event

The 2023 Drainage Installation Field Day will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, at the Ohio State Lima Regenerative Farm. Field demonstrations will be conducted by the Ohio Land Improvement Contractors of America in an open-house-style format throughout the day. Lunch will be provided and will include a short educational presentation by Bruce Clevenger, Farm Management Field Specialist, about crop yields and the economic benefits of drainage and drainage water management. The event is free and open to the public. Parking will be available off Thayer Road.

RSVP by Monday, July 17 to reserve a spot for lunch.
